How to Apply

  • Eighth grade students wishing to attend Marist must complete the following requirements:
  • Take the CO-OP Entrance Exam*
  • Download the Ninth Grade Applicant Record or pick one up directly from Marist.
  • Fill out the top portion (Name, address, etc.)
  • Have your grammar school fill in the bottom part with your 6th, 7th and 8th Grade grades.
  • Include your CO-OP test score or most recent standardized test scores from grammar school.
  • Make sure your grammar school mails or faxes (201-437-6013) your application to Marist.
  • Complete Marist Online Application. 

You will be notified by mail of your acceptance status.

*The CO-OP Entrance Exam will be administered by the Archdiocese of Newark at many Catholic high schools throughout the Archdiocese. Marist High School is an Archdiocesan test site; our school code is 820. These scores will be forwarded to the schools the student has designated. An Archdiocesan Application that includes grades from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades as well as the principal's recommendation should also have been forwarded to the student's first, second, and third choice schools. Interested in transferring to Marist High School? Marist is a worthwhile investment and will provide you with an outstanding Catholic education as well as providing you with a safe and effective learning environment.

Transfer students are considered for admission based upon their performance at their current schools and an interview. Please contact the Office of Admissions at (201) 437-4545 ext. 225.

To apply as a transfer student, follow these steps:

  • Pick up the Prospective Transfer Form from Barbara Verdonck, Admissions Officer.
  • After submitting the Prospective Transfer Form, submit your most recent and updated high school transcript and standardized test scores by mail or fax.
  • Schedule an interview with Ms. Verdonck at 201-437-4545 ext. 225.
