Marist High School students will be able to earn an associate's degree from Hudson County Community College while simultaneously earning their high school diploma, the school announced.
Through a partnership with HCCC, qualified Marist students participating in the College Now program will choose from three meta-majors: Science and Math, Liberal Arts or Business. Qualifying students can take college credit classes as early as freshman year, starting in fall 2018, Marist officials said.
"This partnership brings totally new meaning to our old mantra: 'Go to Marist ... Go to College.' We can officially say: 'Go to College Now,'" said Marist Head of School Alice Miesnik. "This partnership will assuredly save our families from growing college costs, especially since College Now will be offered all for the price of a Marist tuition.
"This is a win-win for families, students, Marist and HCCC. I feel privileged to be part of this exciting moment in Marist's history."
HCCC and Marist have had a long-standing relationship through Project LEAP, offering dual credit courses for several years.
More information on the partnership and the program will be available at the Marist High School Open House Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 from 1 to 4 p.m.
