Marist Students Compete in Model UN![]()

On March 16 and 17, 2010, twenty- five students from Marist High School, Bayonne participated in the annual St. Peter’s College High School Model United Nations, where they represented the United States, Japan, and South Korea. These twenty- five students were required to show excellence in debating, public speaking, and quick thinking. Out of eight committees, Marist brought home awards in five of them. Amro Elhalim and Melissa Molyneux, delegates for the United States, each won Outstanding Delegate in the Summit on the Environment committee and the Social Humanitarian and Cultural committee, respectively. The title of Honorable Delegate was awarded to Catherine Weening, another US delegate for the Economic and Financial Committee. Navidra Hardin and Shereea Gaskin, who represented Japan, brought home the award for Honorable Delegation in the Commission on the Status of Women.
