
Jonathon Candelaria '11 selected as People to People Student Ambassador.
Jonathan Candelaria, a junior student at Marist High School has been selected to journey the Netherlands, Belgium, France, England, Wales and Ireland as a People to People Student Ambassador in the summer of 2010. This is an opportunity to join high school students from the area for a fascinating educational journey.
Jonathan will experience 19 days of rewarding activities and meet people of the Netherlands, Belgium, France, England, Wales and Ireland, all while earning high school or university credit. Jonathan will participate in rewarding activities like these:
- Soar high in the London Eye and meet a former member of the Parliament or cabinet minister. Scale the heights of the Eiffel Tower for a look at Paris.
- Trace the steps of General Patton from Normandy to Bastogne – The Road to Liberty – learning about the Battle of the Bulge in Ardennes.
- Step in history in medieval castles and cathedrals.
- Travel back in time at Warwick Castle, explore an encampment, and re-enact a historical battle and the firing of the world’s largest flame trebuchet.
“I am looking forward this opportunity”, said Jonathan Candelaria. “This will definitely help me experience historical events and meet people from different cultures and that is exciting”, continued Candelaria.
