Marist Student Receives Academic Award from Best Kids Foundation![]()

Best Kids Foundation, A NJ Non-Profit Corporation, established for charitable and educational purposes promoting culture of excellence through education, has honored Marist High School junior, Luwin Changco, with the highest Academic Achievers and Community Leadership Award. Luwin was one of ten local students honored at a Luncheon Gala at the Fiesta in Wood-Ridge on January 23rd.
Consistently a high achiever, Luwin can be found on the honors list for Academic Excellence and is the proud recipient of the Marist Presidential Scholarship. He belongs to an elite class of 8 students representing the Champagnat Scholars Program. At the end of his sophomore year, Luwin had a GPA of 99.17% which ranked him as 2nd in his class of 123 students.
Luwin has always demonstrated a strong sense of morals and values and his family is very important to him. “Because of my mother and sister, my every endeavor becomes attainable, every challenge is worth facing, any problem is easy to resolve and all hardships are bearable,” added Changco. He is an active leader of TEAM CONNECT in Our Lady of Mercy (OLM) Church where he helps young students prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Luwin has also participated in the OLM Parish world-wide delegation for the World Youth Day 2008 in Sydney, Australia and soon, World Youth Day, Madrid in 2011.
