The Baseball Factory and Team One scouting department has recognized Marist High School senior, Patrick Farrell as one of the best baseball players in the nation. “This is a tremendous honor that Patrick will carry throughout his baseball career”, said Baseball Coach Ron Hayward. “Pat is a fine player and a fantastic person. It has been an absolute pleasure to coach him the last few years,” continued Hayward.
Based on this selection, Patrick is invited to attend the Under Armour Pre-Season All America Tournament in Tucson, Arizona from January 11-13, 2008. At this tournament, Patrick will represent his region and battle against other top players from across the country. It is expected that many scouts from professional teams will be in attendance.
Past Pre-Season All-Americans include: David Wright, 3B, New York Mets who hit .325 with 30HR’s, 107 RBI’s, and 34 SB’s in 2007 and B.J. Upton, 2B/OF, Tampa Bay Devil Rays who finished 2007 with a .300 batting average, 24 HR’s, 82 RBI’s, and 22 SB’s in only 129 games. Many other past Pre-Season All-Americans have gone on to be drafted and play professional baseball. In addition, players from previous All-American Tournaments have gone on to sign with colleges including LSU, Alabama, Tulane, Cal-Berkley, Arizona, Long Beach State, North Carolina, Arkansas, and Florida.
