Marist High School celebrated the season of Thanksgiving with its annual canned food drive. Over 1,300 cans for food were collected and donated to food pantries throughout Hudson and Essex Counties. In addition, $410 was collected for the victims of the disaster in the Philippines.

Br. Steve Schlitte, Principal commented, “We are proud of our students’ concern for the needy. It’s great to see our students embracing their responsibility to care for those less fortunate.” Our students always respond generously to the needs of others. Our Marist culture emphasizes that Christians must first think of the concerns of our brothers and sisters and reach out however we can,” added Ms. MaryAnn Kehoe, Campus Minister.

The food drive culminated with a Thanksgiving prayer service at which members of the administration, faculty, and student body prayed in gratitude for each other and for those who are living with pain or misfortune.
